MARTYR UDHAM SINGH’S 125TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED IN LAHORE

The 125th birth anniversary of Martyr Udham Singh was celebrated in Lahore. Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan organised a function at Democratic Lawn of Lahore High Court Bar Association.

Prominent figures attending the ceremony included Raja Zulqarnain Advocate Supreme Court and Foundation patron, Chaudhry Zubair Ahmad Farooq Advocate Supreme Court, Human rights leader Dr Shahid Naseer, Shehbaz Rasheed Qureshi Advocate, Khalid Zaman Khan Kakar Advocate, Noor Muhammad Kasuri Chairman Pakistan India Business Forum, Malik Ehtishamul Hasan senior vice chairman of the Foundation, Muhammad Arif Khan and others participated in the event.

(SUBHEAD)Imtiaz Rashid Qureshi said that Udham Singh, a brave and courageous revolutionary is still alive in hearts and minds of lakhs of people. His patriotism and sacrifice will continue to inspire generations in this sub-continent.

He demanded that commemorative stamps and coins of Udham Singh should be issued, made part of the education curriculum and a major highway should be named after him.

Qureshi said that veteran politicians in Pakistan have reiterated people’s demand to restore India-Pakistan trade besides easing travel to neighbouring countries. Normal relations can boost peace and prosperity on both sides of the borders.

A birthday cake was also cut at the end of the ceremony.
