BABY BLANKETS, CARE KITS PRESENTED TO 21 NEW-BORN DAUGHTERS

Women and Child Development Department Block Abohar-2 organized a block level function of Dhiyan di Lohri today at the government school of village Dhinganwali.

District Program Officer Navdeep Kaur congratulated the participants on the festival and said that there was a time when Lohri was celebrated only when a boy was born, but now the thinking of the society has started to change. Sarpanch of the village Charanjit Siyag said that with the creation of the Dhiyan di Lohri program, more awareness has been created among the parents about the birth of daughters. Cultural colours were also seen on this occasion.

The district administration, Fazilka, also congratulated the parents of the new-born daughters on the occasion of the festival and gifted 21 new-born daughters with baby blankets, baby care kits and packets of peanuts. On the occasion, painting and writing promotion activities were conducted among the school girls. CDPO Jyoti, school principal, staff, and officials were also present.
