Shiromani Akali Dal Vice President and former MLA from Khadoor Sahib assembly constituency, Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, has voiced his deep concern and sympathy for the Indians recently deported from the United States of America.

In a press statement issued today, former MLA Brahmpura expressed profound dismay over the handling of Indian deportees by America, emphasizing that their deportation in handcuffs and shackles is not only a national insult but also a targeted move to tarnish the reputation of Punjabis. Questioning the landing of a US Army plane C-17 at Sri Guru Ramdas Jee International Airport, Amritsar, he highlighted that while a significant number of deportees were from Gujarat and Haryana, the focus seemed disproportionately on Punjabis, insinuating a deliberate effort to malign them.

Raised concerns about the choice of Amritsar airport for the deportation process, Brahmpura suggested that alternatives such as Jewar International Airport in Uttar Pradesh or the national capital, Delhi, could have been more logically selected. Criticizing the prioritization of Amritsar airport in matters of defamation over its utilization for substantial business dealings, he labeled the situation a calculated ploy to vilify Punjabis.

Brahmpura called upon the Indian government to promptly address the unethical actions of travel agents who exploit deportees through illicit bribes and deceptive practices, advocating for affected individuals to be fully refunded for their payments. He stressed the need for accountability and restitution in ensuring justice for the wronged deportees.

In a critique directed at CM. Bhagwant Mann of the ruling "AAP" govt. in the state, Brahmpura censured the administration's failure to fulfill promises of cracking down on fraudulent travel agents, labeling their efforts as hollow and ineffective. Accusing Mann Govt. of misleading the people of Punjab under a regime marred by inadequacy, he urged for genuine actions to safeguard the rights and dignity of Punjabi citizens.
