PUNJAB GOVT TO SPEND RS 100 CRORE ON WATERLOGGING MANAGEMENT

Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora said that the kinnow based industry will be encouraged in Abohar area. He was addressing a gathering of people Tuesday evening here.

Arora said that Kinnow is the main fruit of Fazilka district and the state government has initiated efforts to promote the kinnow based industry here. He said that whoever wants to set up a kinnow based industry here, the government will give him all the approvals on priority basis.

(SUBHEAD)He mentioned the problem of water logging in the area and said that the government is committed to solving it and a project worth Rs 100 crore is being prepared.

Arora said that projects to lay underground pipelines are also being implemented so that the farmers can get full canal water up to their tails. He also assured to fill vacancies of doctors in the local Civil Hospital.

The Cabinet Minister said that the Punjab government is taking people from all sections of the society along so that Punjab can be made a prosperous state. He assured that the pending development works in Abohar will be done on priority basis. He told the officials to prepare the project of the railway under bridge to be built here.
