ABOHAR MLA WARNS ADMINISTRATION AGAINST HARASSMENT TO TRACTOR TROLLEYS

Read in:English

Abohar. (Face2News).

MLA Sandeep Jakhar has warned that district and sub divisional police officers will be responsible if law and order problems erupt due to harassment of tractor trolleys.

He said that the Punjab government had banned truck unions across the state when Captain Amrinder Singh was the Chief Minister in 2017, but a truck union has been formed once again in Abohar to harass traders, labourers, transporters and tractor trolley drivers.

(SUBHEAD)He alleged that police officials were issuing challans to tractor trolley drivers. He said that the Fazilka district police, especially the officials in Balluana area, were harassing traders and transporters to compel them to succumb to the dictates of the illegal Truck Operators Union. Police have been harassing tractor-trolley drivers, who are struggling to earn their livelihood. The police have impounded the vehicles that were carrying fertilizers for the cooperative societies in the villages.

He asked the police administration to stop harassing labourers and tractor trolley drivers and instead act to check thefts, robbery and open sale of narcotics that had brought the government to shame. He said that by reshuffling of top brass, the government intended to give a strong message to field officials to mend their ways but here none bothered to understand the message.
