With the nomination process beginning today for the upcoming Chandigarh Vyapar Mandal (CBM) elections scheduled for March 2, renowned social worker and senior trade leader Sanjeev Chadha filed his nomination accompanied by his supporters.
On this occasion, he stated that he has always raised issues concerning traders' interests, stood with them through their joys and sorrows, and will continue to serve the trading community with the same dedication in the future. Sanjeev Chadha currently serves as the General Secretary of CBM and is also the Chairman of the Coordination Committee of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation.
Voting will take place on Sunday, March 2, from 9 AM to 5 PM. A total of 373 traders associated with the organization will cast their votes. The election will be conducted via ballot paper at the Community Center in Sector 21. The election results will be announced later that evening. The Mandal represents 80 market associations and 40 trade associations. Around 50,000 traders are connected with CBM, providing employment to nearly two lakh people.

The organization’s Chairman, Satpal Gupta, has formed a five-member committee to conduct the elections smoothly. The committee includes current President Charanjiv Singh, Diwakar Sanhuja, Purushottam Mahajan, Sunil Gupta, and Rajat Malhotra. The deadline for filing nominations is set for 1 PM on February 24, with candidate scrutiny scheduled for the same evening. Candidates will have until 6 PM on February 25 to withdraw their names, and voting will be held on March 2 from 9 AM to 5 PM.
