MAJOR GENERAL RANJEET SINGH MANRAL TAKES CHARGE OF GOLDEN ARROW DIVISION, PAYS TRIBUTE AT BARKI WAR MEMORIAL

In a significant development, Major General Ranjeet Singh Manral has taken over command of the prestigious Golden Arrow Division, succeeding Major General Yogi Sheoran. Marking the occasion, the Major General laid a wreath at the Barki War Memorial and paid tributes to the Bravehearts of the 1965 Indo-Pak War and paid obeisance to the Division’s rich legacy of valour and sacrifice.

The Army spokesperson said that the Golden Arrow Division has a distinguished history, playing a decisive role in the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak Wars.

(SUBHEAD)Beyond the battlefield, it has significantly contributed to Nation-building, including infrastructure development and regional security. “Under Major General Yogi Sheoran’s leadership, the Golden Arrow Division made significant advances in operational preparedness, modernisation and infrastructure development. His focus on technology adoption and innovation strengthened the Division’s combat capabilities, ensuring its readiness for future challenges”, said Army spokesperson.

A third-generation Army officer, Major General Manral was commissioned into the Corps of Engineers in 1990. An alumnus of NDA, DSSC, CDM and NDC, he has held key leadership roles, including command of a Specialist Engineer Regiment and an Infantry Brigade in a Strike Corps. With multiple tenures in J&K and the elite Parachute Brigade, he brings vast experience in high-intensity operations, strategic leadership and modern warfare.

Addressing the Division, the General Officer urged all ranks to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, dedication and operational excellence, while adapting to evolving security challenges.

The Army spokesperson said that with extensive operational experience and leadership, Major General Manral is set to steer the Golden Arrow Division toward greater excellence, upholding its legacy of service and commitment to the Nation.
