Continuing its crackdown on drug smugglers under the ongoing anti-drug campaign 'Yudh Nashian Virudh’, initiated under the directives of Hon’ble Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Barnala Improvement Trust, with the assistance of Barnala Police, today demolished an illegally constructed structure located behind the Barnala Bus Stand.

A bulldozer was deployed to raze the house belonging to a mother-daughter duo, identified as Kali Kaur and her daughter Sarbo.

(SUBHEAD)Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Barnala, Md. Sarfaraz Alam stated that, as per official records, Kali Kaur has 9 criminal cases registered against her, including 7 under the NDPS Act, while her daughter Sarbo faces 7 cases out of which 6 are under the NDPS Act.

The demolition was conducted following a request from the Barnala Improvement Trust, which sought police assistance to remove the illegal encroachment. SSP Barnala further emphasized that the action was carried out in an orderly manner, ensuring the presence of adequate police personnel to prevent any law-and-order disturbances.

The Barnala Police remains committed to taking stringent action against drug traffickers and criminals, in line with the government's vision of a drug-free Punjab, added SSP Barnala.
