GAMC DEDICATES 50TH ANNUAL SPORTS DAY TO FORMER LAC CHAIRMAN AHUJA

The Department of Physical Education & Sports, in collaboration with IQAC, at Gopichand Arya Mahila College, celebrated its 50th Annual Sports Day with great enthusiasm. The event was dedicated to the cherished memory of former LAC Chairman Dev Mittar Ahuja, acknowledging his significant contributions to the college's growth.

(SUBHEAD)Charu Ahuja, Chief Guest, emphasized the role of sports in building character, discipline, and teamwork among students. She motivated the young athletes to pursue their goals with determination and resilience. Guests of Honour, Stars of many Master Athletics tournaments, Gulshinder Singh Jassal and Jaspal Kaur Jassal, lauded the college for promoting sports culture and fostering a spirit of healthy competition. The couple also shared valuable insights on the benefits of sports in personal and professional life.

In the 100 metres, 200 metres, 400 metres, high jump, long jump, javelin throw, shot put, three-leg race, and spoon lemon race competitions, around 250 students participated. Palak, a student of B.A. 1st year, was declared the 'Best Athlete.'

Dr. Anita Singh, HOD of the Department of Physical Education, thanked all. Principal Dr. Rekha Sood Handa highlighted the importance of sports in holistic education and encouraged students to actively participate in physical activities for a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
