The Chandigarh Polo Club is set to bring the royal sport of polo to the prestigious Hola Mohalla Mela in Anandpur Sahib on March 14 (Holi) as part of its mission to promote equestrian sports at the grassroots level. Beyond organising exhibition matches, the club will also officiate and provide logistical support for arena polo during this annual festivity.
Hola Mohalla, a revered Sikh festival known for its martial spirit, equestrian skills, and traditional sports, offers an ideal platform to showcase polo’s grandeur and heritage. By participating in this culturally significant event, the Chandigarh Polo Club aims to introduce the sport to a wider audience and inspire young enthusiasts.
Following the successful exhibition matches held during the Maghi Mela at Sri Muktsar Sahib earlier this year in January, where a total of six matches were played over three days and polo received an overwhelming response. The Chandigarh Polo Club is eager to build on that momentum. The matches not only highlighted polo’s historical connection to Punjab but also ignited enthusiasm among aspiring players.
