Under the guidance of Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar Mahajan, the Post Graduate Punjabi Department of DAV College organised a one-day national seminar on the topic 'Surjit Patar Di Kavita Padhdiyan: Sawal Te Sanmukh Naujwan Peedhi' in collaboration with Punjab Kala Parishad, Chandigarh.
The first session was presided over by Prof. Dr. Bhim Inder Singh, Director World Punjabi Centre Punjabi University, Patiala. Key speaker was Prof. Dr. Surjit Singh, Punjabi University Patiala. As a special speaker, Prof. (Dr.) Zameerpal Kaur Sandhu explained the metaphors present in the poetry of Surjit Patar. Prof. Simmi Preet Kaur discussed documentary filmmaking in detail about documentary filmmaking. Principal Harpreet Kaur expressed her views regarding the significance of the seminar. Principal Dr. Tarlok Bandhu, Principal Dr. Sarabjit Kaur, Prof. Sunny Kumar and Dr. Arun Kalra were also members of the presidium.
(SUBHEAD)Singer Simran Banga kept the audience engaged by singing Surjit Patar's poems. Punjab Natyam staged the play 'Socrates'. The guests were honored with mementoes. Dr. Tarsem Sharma thanked all. The art exhibition organized by famous artists Tarsem Rahi and Vishambar Sama was a special attraction. Dr. Maninder Singh Virk conducted the stage for this session.
The second session was chaired by Principal Dr. Tarlok Bandhu and Dr. Seema Somani supported him. Prof. Sunny Kumar discussed in detail about Surjit Patar's poetry. Dr. Sukhraj Dhaliwal, Prof. Rishi Hriday Pal, Prof. Rupinder Kaur, Prof. Gurpreet Singh made this discussion meaningful through their research papers. Dr. Isha Narang conducted the stage for this session.
