A deputation of retirees from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana met MP (Rajya Sabha) Sanjeev Arora here on Friday in connection with their long-pending demand related to pension.
Arora immediately took up this matter before Rahul Bhandari, Principal Secretary to Government of Punjab, Department of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development. And within an hour so, a notification was issued by Principal Secretary to Government of Punjab, Department of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development on Friday.
(SUBHEAD)As per the notification, in pursuance of the recommendations of the Government of Punjab, Department of Finance (Finance Personnel-1 Branch) issued vide no. FD- FP/10YSC/10/2023-2FP1/105 dated 22.03.2023 and FD-FP-10PYSC/15/2023- 2FPI/557397/2023 dated 9th May, 2023 and decision of the Government of Punjab in the Cabinet Meeting held on 17.05.2023 issued by vide no. 01/115/2023/1Cabinet/2718-23 dated 18.05.2023, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to revise pension/family pension for existing pensioners/ family pensioners who have retired/deceased before 1st Jan., 2016 shall be determined on the pattern followed by Government of India in respect of employees retired from Central Government Pre 1st Jan, 2016.
These orders shall apply to all pensioners/family pensioners who were drawing pension/family pension before 1st Jan. 2016 from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana. A pensioners/family pensioner who became entitled to pension/family pension w.e.f. 1st Jan.,2016 of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Ludhiana consequent of retirement/death on 31st December, 2015 would also be covered by these orders.
“We are grateful MP Sanjeev Arora for getting resolved long-pending matter of the retirees”, said Baljinder Bansal, a retiree from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, adding that he along with some other retirees had met Arora on Friday evening. He said the deputation included KB Singh, former Director Extension and Mohinder Oberai, another retiree.
