The Punjab police sleuths have nabbed four persons and recovered 1.537 kg heroin from them in two separate operations.
While divulging details, SSP Bhupinder Singh said that in the first case, the police nabbed the accused identified as Lajar (34) resident of Khushal Singh Wala village and Amanjeet Singh (18) resident of Gatti Rajo ke while they were travelling on a bike. “During the checking, 1.23 kg heroin was recovered from them following which they were booked under sections 21,61,85 of NDPS at Lakho ke Behram police station”, said SSP.
In other case, two unidentified persons were nabbed and 514 gram heroin was recovered from them. The accused were booked under sections 21,23 of NDPS Act at Sadar police station.
The SSP said that the police is making efforts to tighten the noose around the anti-social elements. The SSP said that in a late evening operation yesterday, the police nabbed three persons identified as Jashan alias Teji, Gaurav alias Krish and Rajan alias Kali, after exchange of fire and recovered four weapons including two .32 bore pistols and two country made pistols, from them. “These accused were involved in shootout on a Congress supported MC in the city area on April 24. All these accused have been booked under sections 109, 3(5), of BNS and section 25 and 27 of Arms Act at city police station (134 Dated 24.04.25)”, said SSP.
ONE ACCUSED NABBED IN DOUBLE MURDER CASE WHICH TOOK PLACE ON TUESDAY
The SSP said that the police has also nabbed one of the accused involved in double murder case which took place on April 22 in Magazini gate area in city. The SSP said that a trap had been laid to nab the accused identified as Gagandeep Singh alias Deepu, resident of Nihala Kilcha in this district. “The accused will be produced in the court for remand for the investigation. A hunt has been launched to nab the other accused involved in this case”, said SSP.
