A fresh bomb threat has been reported at the Regional Passport Office (RPO) in Industrial Area Phase-2, Chandigarh, triggering an immediate security response.
The threat was sent via email to officials linked with India’s Ministry of External Affairs.
It claimed that 14 IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) had been planted across the city.
The email warned that explosions could occur at 1:15 PM on Monday.
The sender allegedly identified themselves as associated with “Azad Dravid Nadu.” A team from Sector-31 Police Station, led by Inspector Hariom Sharma, reached the spot quickly. The passport office premises are being thoroughly searched.
Bomb disposal squads and sniffer dogs pressed into service. Security has been tightened in and around the area. As per initial reports, no explosives have been found so far.
