CBI CONDUCTS ITEC COURSE ON INVESTIGATION OF FINANCIAL AND CYBER-ENABLED CRIMES FOR OFFICERS OF MAURITIUS FINANCIAL CRIMES COMMISSION

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Academy conducted a two-week training course for the Officers of Financial Crimes Commission (FCC), Mauritius, which commenced on 10th August 2026, through the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The two-week training was delivered extensively on the investigation of financial crimes and cyber-enabled crimes to the officers of FCC Mauritius.

The programme concluded at the CBI, Headquarters, New Delhi on 21st August 2026. The event was presided over by the Director, CBI, Shri Praveen Sood, who had earlier served as the Police Advisor to the Government of Mauritius from 1999 to 2002.

The Director, CBI had an interaction with the participants and discussed the growing menace of cybercrime in India and Mauritius, the reasons behind and the challenges faced in the investigations. The ways to mitigate the impact of cybercrimes were also discussed along with the areas of mutual interest and common challenges with emphasis on making cross-border investigation expeditious and effective.
