CREATIVE ACTIVITIES ORGANISED FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Raj Sadosh/Abohar.

In the D.A.V. of Education, Abohar, National Service Scheme unit organised special awareness activities on the topic “Reduce, Recycle and Reuse” under the environmental education program.

Students were inspired to make useful materials by reusing old plastic bottles, boxes and other useless items. Teacher Jatinder Kaur gave a fascinating demonstration of making beautiful vases, pen stands and other decorative items from plastic bottles. The students watched this demonstration with great enthusiasm and showed interest in making such items themselves.

Along with this, a poster making competition was also organized on the topic “Save Environment, Save Water”, in which students presented effective messages related to environmental protection, save water and cleanliness through pictures and slogans.

Addressing the students, officiating principal Dr. Vijay Grover said that protection of nature is the duty of every citizen and through small habits we can make a big contribution in environmental protection. The NSS department also administered oaths to all the students for less use of plastic, water conservation and maintaining a clean environment. He appreciated the initiative taken by programme officers – Sheeba and Anil Bishnoi.
