Kharar Police had registered an FIR under section 420, 506, 120-B IPC against property dealers Hem Raj and Sawaranjeet for committing fraud of more than Rs 15 crores, with Himachal Residents by selling plots in village sahauran, Kharar.
Nitin Verma, Advocate, Punjab and Haryana High Court, who is the counsel for the buyers informed that the accused Hem Raj and Sawaranjeet carved out plots on a chunk of land in village Sahauran, Kharar by entering into agreement with the owners of the land in the year 2021. The after receiving the possession of the land the same was sold to more than 100 buyers from 2021-2024. Sale deed was registered for some of the buyers and rest of the plots were sold on Power of Attorney. In the year 2024 when some of the buyers started raising constructions, which was stopped by Surjit Singh claiming himself to be the owner.
The buyers contacted property dealers Hem Raj and Swaranjeet did not gave any positive response. The complaint was filed in March 2025 however no action was taken by the police authorities. The buyers filed petition before the Hon’ble High Court in which response of the State was sought by the Hon’ble Court. In pursuance to the same the Police Authorities have registered FIR against the property dealers Hem Raj and Swaranjeet and the investigation is going on presently.
