MLA SANDEEP JAKHAR HONORS WINNERS OF COSCO CRICKET TOURNAMENT

The COSCO Cricket Tournament, organized by the Jakhar Trust, created history through the sheer sporting talent and tremendous enthusiasm displayed by the youth of the region. MLA Sandeep Jakhar, the Chief Guest, presented awards to the winners. The final match witnessed a fierce contest between the teams from Sitto Gunno and Bhagu. Team Bhagu clinched the victory and claimed the championship trophy by scoring 93 runs in just 5.5 overs. Team Sitto Gunno distinguished itself as a commendable runner-up.

Sandeep Jakhar stated, “It is my resolve that every young person in Abohar and the surrounding villages stays away from social evils like drug abuse and instead connects with the sports field. We will further enhance sports facilities in the near future so that local players can make their mark at both national and international levels.”

The Chief Guest honored the winning team from Bhagu with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and a magnificent trophy, while the runner-up team from Sitto Gunno was presented with Rs 51,000 and a trophy. Vishal, who delivered the best performance of the tournament, was named the ‘Man of the Series’ and awarded a cash prize of Rs 5,100; additionally, Sahil was recognized as the ‘Best Batsman’ and Ashok as the ‘Best Bowler’ (each receiving Rs 2,100), thereby celebrating their exceptional sporting prowess.
