The Anti-Emigration Fraud Unit of Panchkula Police has achieved remarkable success through its continuous campaign against fake immigration agents and fraudsters cheating people in the name of sending them abroad. Strict police action not only led to the arrest of several notorious agents but also nearly eliminated the fake emigration network operating in Panchkula. Timely intervention prevented many people from becoming victims of fraud worth crores of rupees, while a substantial amount of money was also recovered and returned to victims.

According to Inspector Yogvinder Singh, In-charge of the Anti-Emigration Fraud Unit, a total of 239 complaints were received in 2025, averaging around 20 complaints per month, and all complaints have been resolved. In the first five months of 2026 (January to May), 54 complaints were received, averaging around 11 complaints per month, of which 46 have already been resolved. This decline reflects the positive impact of continuous police action and strict measures against offenders.

According to DCP Panchkula Srishti Gupta, the police did not limit their efforts to investigating complaints alone but also achieved significant success in recovering victims’ money. During complaint investigations in 2025, approximately 2.40 crore was returned to complainants, while around 1.01 crore has already been recovered and returned during the first five months of 2026. Additionally, cash and valuables recovered from arrested accused included approximately 1.76 crore in cash and 850 grams of gold jewelry in 2025, while recoveries worth 54.44 lakh have been made so far in 2026.

During enforcement operations, police registered 45 cases in 2025, averaging nearly 4 cases per month, while 10 cases have been registered so far in 2026, averaging about 2 cases per month. Police arrested 63 accused in 2025 and 37 accused so far in 2026. Among those arrested were several habitual offenders involved in cheating people across multiple states by falsely promising overseas opportunities. Investigations extended beyond local boundaries, with police connecting every link to expose the entire network. During this process, one accused was arrested against whom 49 complaints had already been registered at various locations.

Panchkula Police also busted interstate gangs operating across Delhi, Punjab, and other states and arrested several key accused. Investigations revealed that these groups were operating without licenses or legal authorization and were deceiving people by offering false promises of sending them abroad in exchange for large sums of money. Due to strict police action, continuous raids, and legal proceedings, many fake emigration agents were forced to flee Panchkula.

DCP Panchkula Srishti Gupta stated that this campaign against fake Emigration operations will continue. Strict legal action will be taken against anyone involved in cheating people in the name of overseas placement. Citizens have also been urged to contact only licensed and authorized agencies for emigration services and immediately report any suspicious activities to the police so that timely action can be taken against such offenders.
