REVIEW MEETING HELD WITH CENSUS CHARGE OFFICERS AT THE ABOHAR MC

Raj Sadosh/Abohar.

As part of the first phase of Census-2027, the officer appointed by the Census Department, Punjab, for checking in Fazilka district, R.P. Singh, Joint Director, arrived and held a review meeting with the census charge officers at the Municipal Corporation, Abohar. Later, he visited various blocks of Ward No. 8 and inspected them on the spot. In addition, necessary instructions were issued to speed up and streamline the ongoing field survey under the first phase of Digital Census-2027 (House Listing and Housing Census).

City Census Charge Officer, MC, Inderjit Singh, said that the door-to-door survey work began on 15 May and will continue until 13 June. He said that for the first phase of Census-2027, 242 blocks have been created for the counting of houses in the 50 wards falling within the limits of Abohar city, for which 267 enumerators and 45 supervisors have been appointed. After complete training, they have been carrying out the house census work in their respective blocks since May 15, and so far house counting of 10 percent of the total population has been completed.

R.P. Singh, Jt. Director, appealed to the residents of the city to cooperate with the enumerators and provide them with accurate information, as this data will help the government formulate policies and welfare schemes for the residents.

During the field survey, the enumerators will ask 33 questions listed by the state government. If residents have submitted their housing details through self-enumeration, then they will only need to share the SE-ID with the enumerator when the enumerator visits their property during the field survey. No documents or OTP will be asked for by the enumerators
