WORLD DRUG DE-ADDICTION DAY: AWARENESS DRIVE HELD IN MALOYA TO PROMOTE A DRUG-FREE SOCIETY

On the occasion of World Drug De-Addiction Day, the Women and Child Welfare Society, based in Sector 45-D, organized an awareness programme in Maloya Colony to spread the message of a drug-free society. Volunteers and interns of the organization actively participated in the event, encouraging people to stay away from drugs and lead healthy lives.

The programme was conducted under the theme “Choose Life, Not Drugs,” highlighting the harmful effects of substance abuse and motivating people to adopt a healthy and positive lifestyle.

Addressing the gathering, Ms. Pooja Bakshi, Founder President of the Society, said that drug addiction is a serious social evil that affects not only individuals but also their families and society as a whole. She urged young people to stay away from drugs and contribute positively to nation-building.

The chief guest, SHO Inspector Baldev Kumar of Maloya Police Station, an international weightlifter and bodybuilder, inspired the audience by emphasizing that strong willpower, discipline, and proper guidance can help individuals overcome drug addiction. He encouraged youth to embrace sports, fitness, and a healthy lifestyle.

To promote healthy eating habits, the Society distributed fresh fruits as refreshments among the participants, reinforcing the importance of nutritious food for overall well-being.

The event was attended by office bearers, members, volunteers, interns, and invited guests. Everyone pledged to work towards building a drug-free society.
The Society acknowledged the valuable contribution of volunteers Muskan, Sneha, Madhu Kumari, Meena, Prachi Arya, Anjali Kumari, Bharti, Akanksha, and Niyati for making the programme successful.

Councillor Nirmala Devi (Ward No. 28, Maloya) and senior leader Dilawar Singh also attended the event as special guests. The Society expressed gratitude to all supporters and participants for their cooperation.

The organization reiterated that its primary mission is to spread awareness, keep youth away from drugs, and build a healthier and stronger society through the values of Education, Service, and Culture. The programme concluded with message: “Quit Drugs, Choose Life — One Step Towards a Healthier Society.”
