THE PROMISE BY AAP LEADERS TO TACKLE THE STRAY BULL MENACE IS YET TO BE FULFILLED

Raj Sadosh/Abohar.

On the Chintpurni Temple link road, a stray bull rammed into and injured an elderly man (aged around 70) who was standing outside his home this morning when a bull passing through the lane suddenly tossed him into the air with its horns. Hearing his cries for help, neighbors rushed to his aid and informed his family, who subsequently had him treated at a private hospital. Notably, a similar incident occurred a few months ago in Street No. 6 of Anand Nagari, where a stray bull tossed a woman standing outside her house; she passed away about two weeks later.

For years, the aggressive presence of stray bulls and cattle on the roads of Abohar has been a massive civic issue, causing structural damage, crop destruction, major traffic disruptions, and fatal road accidents. When AAP was in the opposition, senior party leaders—including Aman Arora—joined local protests more than five years ago at Nehru Park in Abohar, promising that the menace would be eliminated once AAP formed the government in Punjab.

The promise by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders to tackle the stray bull menace in Abohar means taking concrete administrative and infrastructural measures to remove abandoned cattle from public areas to ensure public safety.
Despite past political promises, the problem remains a critical, daily risk for Abohar residents. Reports continue to highlight severe injuries and fatalities—such as a recent severe bull attack on an elderly resident outside his home and a fatal collision involving a 12th-grade student.
