YOUTH ROBBED UNDER THE RAIL OVERBRIDGE

A youth was robbed on his way home from a shop allegedly by two miscreants under the steel overbridge by two weapons wielding miscreants of cash worth thousands of rupees and a mobile phone. The victim has lodged a complaint in City-2 police station and demanded action.

Intriguingly, Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police stations are located at a few meters distance from the site of the crime. Railway authorities have not removed the wild bushes that had grown near the railway staff quarters and near the overbridge. Anti-social elements have been taking undue advantage of this apathetic situation, people said.

Harsh Swami said that he works at a shop in the city. Around 2:30 p.m., he was walking home to Nai Abadi. He had about Rs. 10,000 with him as salary. When he reached under the steel overbridge, two youths suddenly came there and surrounded him; they were carrying sharp-edged weapons. Threatening him, they snatched his Redmi mobile phone and Rs. 10,000 in cash. When he raised an alarm, the robbers jumped over the nearby wall of JP Park and fled from there.

JP Park is reportedly known as a hub of drug peddlers and other miscreants/
