Emphasising speedy investigation in cases of sexual offences and rape under the POCSO Act against women and children, Sh Shah said that no civilised society can accept such heinous crimes. He said that the safety of women and children is our top priority, for this the number of Fast Track Special Courts (FTSC) should be increased.

On the issue of Panjab University, the Chief Minister said that the university has a deep connection with the people of Punjab adding that it is only Punjab which has been supporting and nurturing this University for the last 50 years. 

Addressing the 32nd meeting of the Northern Zonal Council (NZCC) in Faridabad, chaired by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, the Chief Minister demanded the immediate release of pending dues from BBMB and the appointment of a permanent member from Himachal on the Board.
