Utsav (festivals) section of the second edition of Jashn, the Annual Dance Showcase presented by Bolloywood Beats  Dance Troupe at IUPUI Campus Center Theater here on Sunday, emerged piece de resistance of the show. The packed house was treated to extravagant dances and foot tapping music. The talented artistes gave dazzling performance while celebrating prominent festivals dances from different parts of India. Two shows were billed for today -- 1  and 5. Both were hit.

Anita Hjorth Lerche described 2018 Jashn a "Fantastic event." Rupal said "Jashn was spectacular and all the performers were outstanding. The Jason’s creativity, costumes, rhythm and choreography were superb. Kudos to Jenny Bhupatkar Chakrabarti and her team."

 Dances in each section -- Holi celebrations, Deepawali, Janamashtmi, Eid, Onam and Durga Puja  -- enthralled the spectators, which included  Danish-Punjabi singer/dancer/actress  Anita Hjorth Lerche, legendary artist Kanwal Prakash Singh and Rupal Thakker Thanawala, a promient member of the Asian American Alliance and community leader.

Bollywood Beats Indianapolis Dance Troupe mesmerized the guests with an incredible display of home-grown Indy talent, the best Bollywood music, unparalleled choreography, extravagant costumes and an expert production.

The attractive progam began with 'Synthesis'. It was a presentation of fusion between traditional Indian and Western dance forms (Bharatnatyam and HipHop, Ghmoor and Ballet, Kathak and Tap, Lavani and PolLock). Xiphos Corps and wishes and Dance Academy were the guest performers.

It was followed by a contemporary dance performance by guest performers from The Moving  Company of IUPUI (Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis). Display during Utsav program kept the spectators spell-bound and memerized.

The program was further enlivened with Amandeep Singh Samra displaying his skills while playing Dhol (The Beat). Besides the artistes, the spectators, including guests KP Singh, Anita and Rupal, joined the floor.

It was a love story between two individuals from different backgrounds overcoming cultural differences and emphasising that love has no boundaries.

A Bollywood Dance medley by guest performers from Synergy Dance Company of the Wishes Dances Studio set the stage ablaze with their robust display.

LET'S NACHO  was another entertaining performanfe by the guest performers from Desi Divas. Jashn would have been incomplete without a hip-shaking and foot-storming Bollywood routine filled with unlimited dance, dialogs and drama.

Prerna, Aayushi, Aakansha, Deepak, Sanket, Arathi, Priya, Sonali, Shruti, Vedant, Sarthak, Katie, Sofeah, Shavani, Vinny, Puja, Anagha, Steffi, Naeema, Shafali, Neha, Rachna, Prajakta and Ayesha were the members of the fabulous  Bollywood Beats Dance Troupe.

Hattie, Rachana, Vishal, Nihar, Ananya, Nitasha, Shriya, Carina, Yogini, Ketaki, Yashi, Usha, Isha, Samantha, Hina, Kavya, Prameela and Paramita were the guest dancers.

Special  performances were given by Xiphos Corps, Wishes Dance Studio, Desi Divas, The Moving Company and Amandeep Samra.

Producer Jenny Bhupatkar appreciated the contributions of  Gold sponsors Shaloo Munjaal Exceed Insurance and Silver sponsor Beenu Sikand, Navi Singh at Centier Bank, Indy Tax Service and Matra Hindi (SRIJAN).

She also thanked IUPUI and the campus center staff for their assistance and cooperation in making the show a grand sucess.
