This historic moment in the history of Sikh faith, the fifth largest religion in the world has caught the attention of the global community. There are a myriad of notable events taking place around the world to introduce Guru Nanak, a rare spiritual Light that brought the message of Ik Onkaar: Oneness of Supreme Immaculate Reality and God as the Father and Mother of all being and the Architect of all Creation; sanctity of all faiths; equality and dignity and justice; peace, harmony, and service of all humanity.
To commemorate the occasion, there are many landmark national and international gestures and initiatives:
*A special Corridor between Kartarpur Sahib (Pakistan) and Dera Baba Nanak (India); Kartarpur Sahib was the last resting place of Guru Nanak.
*Many more pilgrims are expected to visit Nanakana Sahib, the Birthplace of Guru Nanak.
* World leaders have issued special Proclamations to mark the occasion; and many are visiting Sikh Gurdwaras to pay respect Guru Nanak and honor their Sikh populations.
*Brampton, Canada has named a street: Guru Nanak Street
*A special coin issued by Pakistan to honor the anniversary
* A beautifully illustrated Book with translation of Japji Sahib, a composition attributed to Guru Nanak, in 19 languages.
* Air India Fleet, the national Airline of Indian, emblazoned with the symbol "IK ONKAAR (meaning: One Supreme Immaculate Creator) in Punjabi script)
* A special Documentary that highlights the life, message of Guru Nanak and its relevance to the Sikh and world faith communities and the emerging interfaith renaissance.
* Hundreds of ceremonial Parades and major joyous gatherings in Sikh Gurdwaras (Sikh places of worship); community service projects; educational forums, books on Guru Nanak and Sikh faith; innovative and exciting ideas to commemorate the occasion.
