On the occasion of Republic Day Celebration, Charanjit Singh Channi, Minister of Technical Education and Industrial Training, Punjab unfurl the tricolour at the district level function organized at Shaheed Bhagat Singh stadium on Sunday.

During the event, children from various schools participated to perform on various theme based programs, showcasing the Indian culture and celebrating the occasion of 71st Republic Day with pomp and joy. 

The Chief Guest, Charanjit Singh Channi, handed over Certificates of Appreciation to certain Youth Icons of the district, for their commendable services to the society. One of the recipients of the Certificate of Appreciation, Saurish Sharma, who is a renowned astrologer of the region, practising astrology consultation at Mumbai told about how astrology is helping to bring a change in peoples’ life.

“Astrology is a divine and ancient science that enables us to look into the future. It is the connecting chord among our past, present and future. It knows no caste, religion, gender or nationality. It simply concerns the important fundamentals of our everyday lives,” he added.

Astrology is currently enjoying a broad cultural acceptance that hasn’t been seen since the nineteen-seventies. The shift began with the advent of the personal computer, accelerated with the Internet, and has reached new speeds through social media. “My expertise lies in the way I mix up both astrology and modern sciences to easily explain to my clients the concepts of astrology and how doing simple, non-expensive remedies would help them achieve results they desire, he said adding that the idea at the heart of astrology is that the pattern of a person’s life—or character, or nature—corresponds to the planetary pattern at the moment of his birth.

While talking about the future of this ancient study in the modern era, Saurish said if the government starts with astrology as a subject in colleges and universities, with proper research and data available  to people following the subject, almost half of the cases in hospitals and courts could be prevented by following certain simple remedies. 

“When our present government talks about Hindutva, it should also take steps in this direction and work to revive the traditional science of astrology, palmistry and numerology, and promote these not only at  local and national levels but also at international forums as well.

It is time for the world to recognize how these traditional Indian sciences were ahead of their times and what impact it could have on the world itself”, he added.
