Kulbir Kalsi/Mohali 

The Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology, Mohali presents 23th FRESHERS 2022 at NIIFT campus, Mohali. The students showcased their talent in the field of dance, music, mimicry, etc.

The dress code for the junior students was Bollywood as per the theme given by the seniors. The event started with Ganesh Vandana .Mr. Vishav Bandhu , Joint Director, PIU, Department of Industrues and commerce Punjab-cum-Director NIIFT, Dr. Poonam Aggarwal Thakur, Principal NIIFT Mohali/Ludhiana, Dr.Simrita Singh, Princioal NIIFT Jalandhar Dr. Meeta Gawri, Head Cultural Affairs among other heads and faculty members graced the occasion.

Students took on the stage in their funny way of attracting the audience towards them and adding cherry to the pie. The folk dance performances by Khushi, Rishika and Keshav Gupta of first and third year students.

Later on, both the anchors went up to the audience and asked them random question which any one would answer. All of them enjoyed a lot.Then the Martial art performed by shikhar khare , Black belt holder,student of final year .Later on senior students came up with their unique ramp walk. The mercury began to rise, the dance floor was left open for some unbridled energy. Then the modelling session for the fresher’s and there were about 19 participants all of them were impressive in their own way of this great evening came up with their unique ramp walk in pairs.

The winner of Ms. and Mr. Fresher were Ms. Vanshika and Mr. Nipun goyal, respectively.

Then solo singing performances by some of the best singers of second year. The excitement augmented to a joyful high as performances graced the stage. Joy and happiness could be seen among students of each and every course at the college. Then dance performed by Masters FMM students. After the dance performance, results were declared and out of 19 contestants, were finally selected for the final question-answer round. There were about 10 participants they introduced themselves one by one in the allotted time which was 1 min per contestant.

The jury asked some mind twisting questions and some of them were able to tackle them very well. This question round took place twice. Then the dance performed by first year students after this, which provided jury with sufficient time for deciding the results.

Once the results were out, it was the stage of achievement for the contestants. The winner of Ms. and Mr. Fresher were Ms. Vanshika and Mr. Nipun goyal, respectively.

All awards were given by the jury to the respective students, with the trophies to all, including sachets and gifts for Mr. and Mrs. Fresher along with the trophies.

At the end last but not the least the energetic dance performed by final year students and the dance
performance were very much exciting to watch Finally, the vote of thanks was given by Dr. Meeta Gawri.The event was finally concluded with dinner.
