Border Security Force (BSF) troops reported to have seized 7. 14 KG heroin from Fazilka and Amritsar Sector on Wednesday. The contraband values over Rs. 35 crores in international market.
In first seizure at about 2250 hrs, Border Security Force troops deployed at border heard buzzing sound of suspected flying object / drone entering from Pakistan into Indian territory in the area falling near Village - Barike in District Fazilka on Wednesday at about 2250 hrs, . As per drill, the troops tried to intercept the drone by fire.
The whole area was cordoned and Police & concerned sister agencies were informed.
During search BSF troops recovered 01 Packet of contraband suspected to be heroin (Gross wt - 2.650 kg) wrapped in yellow tape near Vill - Barike. One civilian is also apprehended in this regard. Further, detail search of the area is in progress.

As per drill, the troops tried to intercept the drone by fire. The whole area was cordoned and started search operations. During during search BSF troops recovered one Packet of contraband suspected to be heroin (Gross wt - 4.490 kg) wrapped with yellow tape near Vill - Daoke. Further detail search of the area is in progress. BSF troops, once again were able to foil nefarious design of smugglers.
