DRUG SMUGGLER’S PROPERTIES WORTH 76.55 LAKH FREEZED BY POLICE

Tightening the noose around the drug smugglers operating in this border district, the police have freezed the properties of a drug smuggler worth Rs. 76.55 lakh.

While divulging the details, Saumya Mishra SSP said that today the police freezed the properties of a drug smuggler Sukhchain Singh alias Sonu resident of Bhakhra. The SSP said that the accused had been booked by the police under NDPS act following the recovery of 500 gram heroin at Jhabbal police station in Tarn Taran district in 2012(FIR No. 113 Dated 05.07.2012).

“The police freezed his residential property (49.92) worth Rs. 72.48 lakh besides a pickup van (Tata Ace) worth Rs. 3.52 lakh besides his bank account having Rs. 55375/- has also been freezed.

The SSP said that this year, till now the police have freezed the properties of two drug smugglers worth Rs. 1.2 crores. Last year, in more than 30cases, properties worth Rs. 15 crores were seized”, said SSP Mishra.
