PUNJAB POLICE SOLVES BOUNCER MURDER CASE WITHIN 48 HOURS; TWO SHOOTERS OF LUCKY PATIAL GANG HELD AFTER BRIEF ENCOUNTER

POLICE TEAMS RECOVER ONE PISTOL ALONG WITH AMMUNITION AND A MOTORCYCLE USED IN CRIME FROM ARRESTED SHOOTERS, SAYS DGP PUNJAB GAURAV YADAV, AFTER SEEING POLICE, ACCUSED PERSONS STARTED FIRING AT POLICE PARTY: SSP MOHALI DR SANDEEP GARG

Punjab Police solved the murder case of a bouncer within 48 hours with the arrest of two shooters of Lucky Patial Gang after a brief encounter took place in the New Chandigarh area here on Thursday. According to information, victim Munish Rana alias Bouncer was shot dead by two unidentified motorcycle-borne persons on Tuesday.

 Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav has identified the arrested shooters as Vikram Rana alias Happy (23), a resident of village Teorh and Kiran Singh (23), a resident of Guru Ram Dass Enclave in Kharar.

He said that Police teams have also recovered .32 bore pistol along with six live cartridges and four empty bullet shells from their possession, besides impounding their Honda Shine motorcycle, which was used in the crime.

SSP Mohali Dr Sandeep Garg said that special police teams were constituted immediately after registration of the murder case at Sadar Kharar Police Station. Following reliable inputs and human-intel about the presence of shooters near Medicity in the New Chandigarh area, Police teams from Special Cell Mohali led by DSP Gursher Singh Sandhu followed the trail of shooters and managed to track them, he said.

Sharing operation details, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) SAS Nagar Dr Sandeep Garg said that special police teams were constituted immediately after registration of the murder case at Sadar Kharar Police Station. Following reliable inputs and human-intel about the presence of shooters near Medicity in the New Chandigarh area, Police teams from Special Cell Mohali led by DSP Gursher Singh Sandhu followed the trail of shooters and managed to track them, he said.

Finding that the Police party chasing them, accused persons started firing at the police party, he said, while adding that the Police teams fired back in self-defence, during which, both the accused persons sustained bullet injuries. Both have been admitted to the hospital for medical treatment.

A case FIR no. 120 dated 7/5/2024 had already been registered under sections 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 25 of the Arms Act at Police Station Sadar Kharar.
