Face2News/Chandigarh

As part of the Government of India’s Fit India Movement, the 75th edition of the “Fit India Sundays on Cycle” initiative was observed by 13 Battalion, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) through the organisation of a cycle rally under the leadership of Smt. Kamal Sisodiya, Commandant, 13 BN CRPF.

Addressing the gathering, Commandant Smt. Kamal Sisodiya highlighted the numerous benefits of cycling for both physical and mental well-being. She emphasized that regular cycling not only improves fitness and endurance but also helps reduce stress, enhances mental health, and promotes a healthy lifestyle. She further underlined the environmental significance of cycling, stating that it contributes towards reducing pollution and fostering a cleaner, greener environment.

The Commandant flagged off the Tiranga-mounted cycle rally by showing the green flag. Notably, she personally led the rally from the front throughout its course, setting an inspiring example of leadership and women empowerment. The sight of a senior woman officer leading a rally comprising predominantly male personnel drew admiration from spectators and members of the public. Her participation and leadership served as a powerful message of confidence, determination, and gender equality.

The rally also witnessed enthusiastic participation from members of civil society, who appreciated the initiative and joined in spreading the message of fitness and environmental responsibility.

Officers, subordinate officers, jawans, and members of the civil community participated in the event. The programme aimed to promote awareness about fitness, encourage healthy living, and inspire citizens to adopt environmentally sustainable practices through simple lifestyle changes.

The event concluded with a collective call to make physical activity an integral part of daily life and contribute towards building a fitter, healthier, and greener India.
