358 VEHICLES CHECKED, 52 FOUND ENGAGED IN ILLEGAL MINING IMPOUNDED.HOME MINISTER ANIL VIJ DIRECTS BUREAU TO INTENSIFY DRIVE AGAINST ILLEGAL MINING.

In a concerted effort to counteract the illicit activity of illegal mining, the Haryana State Enforcement Bureau (HSEnB) has effectively executed a sequence of targeted raids across 11 districts of the State, on the intervening night of 11th & 12th Dec 2023. During these operations, 358 vehicles were checked leading to confiscation of 52 vehicles including 22 Hyva/Dumpers, 5 JCBs/Poclain Excavators and tractor-trolleys/overloaded vehicles which were being used in illegal mining activities.
Revealing these details here today, Home Minister Sh Anil Vij informed that the recently constituted Haryana State Enforcement Bureau has been gathering intelligence on the illegal mining operations throughout the State, encompassing both underground and open surface activities. Sharing details, he added that a total of 51 teams, comprising of 480 police personnel of all ranks carried out synchronized raids by setting up 30 checkpoints and 66 mobile parties, commencing from 11:00 pm yesterday till early morning today.(SUBHEAD)
The raids were carried out across 11 districts, namely Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Faridabad and Palwal for sand mining and Nuh, Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri for stone mining. The special campaign concluded peacefully and without any tension at any location, even in the challenging conditions of low temperature (8 degrees) and low visibility.
Home Minister Sh. Anil Vij had issued directives to the Haryana State Enforcement Bureau, urging them to intensify the campaign against illegal mining and illicit liquor in the State with greater rigor and effectiveness. He informed that collaboration with other stakeholder departments of Transport, Town & Country Planning, Power and Irrigation are also underway and similar campaigns shall be launched as more officers, manpower and resources are made available to the Bureau.
He warned those involved in illegal activities in this regard to abstain from wrongdoing, else strict action shall be taken against them by the Enforcement Bureau which has successfully created units in all the 22 revenue districts of Haryana to achieve the mandate given to it by the State Government.
Dr. A S Chawla, ADGP Haryana State Enforcement Bureau stated that the simultaneous targeting of such antisocial elements at multiple locations is bound to yield positive outcomes. The dedicated Enforcement Bureau Units (in coordination with district Mining officials) under SP Karan Goel remained committed to their assigned tasks, demonstrating sincere and effective performance, overcoming various hardships and hurdles.
