A team of South Western Range, Special Cell, led by Inspr. Manender Singh, Inspr. Sunil Kumar, and Inspr. Neeraj Kumar, under the supervision of ACsP Sanjay Dutt and Sunil Kumar, has arrested a noted criminal and shooter, namely Ankit @ Tarru (age 26 years) s/o Satpal r/o Shakur Pur, Delhi.
With his arrest, the Special Cell has averted the killing of a rival gangster at Dwarka Court Complex. Two pistols, five live cartridges, and two knives have been recovered from the possession of the accused person.
There was information with SWR, Special Cell that a local criminal group in the Shakur Pur area of Delhi was planning to kill its rival gangster, namely Madhesh @ Madho, in order to extend the gang’s supremacy in the area. Subsequently, a dedicated team was deployed to develop the input. During the surveillance, it came out that Sagar @ Katto, and Ankit @ Tarru, were the key members of this criminal group, and they wanted to eliminate their rival, Madhesh @ Madho.
It was further revealed that they had planned to kill Madhesh, on December 8, 2023, inside the Dwarka Court Complex. Said Madhesh survived their murderous assault in 2020 also, which was reported vide FIR No. 834/2020, u/s 307/34 IPC, and 25/27 Arms Act, PS Dabri. Based on this specific information, a team comprising ASI Pradeep, ASI Prem Prakash, HC Deepak Rana, HC Amit Kumar, HC Manish, HC Rakesh, HC Atul Kumar, HC Dinesh, HC Sanjay, HC Ashish, HC Ravi Panwar, and HC Ravinder, led by Inspr. Manender Singh, was constituted, and a trap was laid near Dwarka Court Complex, Delhi, on December 8, 2023.
At around noon, Ankit @ Tarru was apprehended on the road adjacent to Dwarka Court Complex when he came there in his i-10 car. On search, one semi-automatic pistol, one single-shot pistol, five live cartridges, and two sharp-edged knives were recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case under the relevant provisions of the law was lodged against him at PS Special Cell, and investigation was taken up.
PROFILE AND INTERROGATION : Accused Ankit @ Tarru was born in 1997 in Shakur Pur, Delhi. His father works in the Patel Nagar Post Office, and his mother is a housewife. He has two sisters as siblings. He completed his schooling at a local school in Shakur Pur. Thereafter, he took admission in Sanskrit (Hons.) at Satyawati College in 2017, and while in the 1st year of graduation, he, along with Sagar @ Katto and their other associates, murdered Rakesh @ Bholi of Shakur Pur in 2018 to avenge the killing of their associate Lucky by Madhesh @ Madho.
Mr. Ingit Pratap Singh , IPS, DCP, Special Cdell, said, in 2020, he came out of jail on interim bail due to COVID-19, and during this period, he, along with his associates Sagar @ Katto and Johnson, committed murderous assault on their rival, Madhesh @ Madho, and he was arrested in this case. He came out on bail in July 2021, but was again arrested in Rani Bagh while in possession of illegal firearms. He and Sagar @ Katto, had a grudge against Madhesh due to the killing of Lucky and wanted to eliminate him.
(SUBHEAD)Meanwhile, they got a tip that Madhesh would visit Dwarka Court on December 8, 2023, and they planned to kill him there. As per plan, he procured illegal firearms, ammunition, and knives and reached Dwarka Court on December 8, 2023.

In this case, the accused along with his associates, namely Sagar @ Katto, and Johnson, fired multiple rounds on Madhesh to kill him. The victim sustained serious gunshot injuries, but survived.,FIR No. 206/2018 u/s 302/307/324/120B/34 IPC PS Netaji Subhash Place, Delhi.
Further investigation of the case is under progress to trace and apprehend the associates of the arrested accused.
