In another breakthrough two accused has been arrested by Police Station Cyber Crime, Sec.17, Chandigarh under the leadership of SH. A. Venkatesh DSP/PS-CC& IT, Chandigarh and overall supervision of Sh. Ketan Bansal SP City & IT, UT, Chandigarh.
The accused identified as Satish Kushwaha age 28yrs S/o Sh. Bhagwandass Kushwaha R/o Vill. Dagdawa PSMauganj Distt. Mauganj MP. and Abhishek Tiwari age 25 yrs S/o Sh. Lovekush Tiwari R/o Vill. Purar PS-Raipur Karchulian Distt. Rewa MP and they were wanted in Case FIR No. 107 dated 21.10.2023 U/s 419, 420, 467, 468, 471 & 120 B IPC of PS-Cyber Crime, UT, Chandigarh
The present case Sh. Navin Gupta S/o Sh. Madan Lal Gupta, R/O # 802/1, Sector-43 A, Chandigarh reported that on 22.06.2023 he received a call in which caller introduce himself as namely Amit Kaushik from Times Job and offered to scheduled Interview for job.
Further alleged asked to deposit money Rs. 6,500/-, 48,640/-, 84,680/-, 84,200/-, 92,804/-, 1,82,400/- and 1,46,000/- in various bank accounts in the name of registration fees, PMP Course charges, document verification charge, Appointing PRO (personal relationship officer) fees, charges of Employee agreement, IT Security, Training setting up respectively. In this complaint got cheated total amount of 6,45,224/- by cheaters.
After making the preliminary enquiry, the said case was registered after approval of senior officer and on 22.11.2023, a raid was conducted at PS & Distt. Mauganjby chasing his location and from where the accused 1. Satish Kushwaha age 28yrs S/o Sh. Bhagwandass Kushwaha R/o Vill. Dagdawa PS-Mauganj Distt. Mauganj MP. 2. Abhishek Tiwari age 25 yrs S/o Sh. Lovekush Tiwari R/o Vill. Purar PS-Raipur Karchulian Distt. Rewa MPhas been arrested his resident and04 days police custody of accused had been taken.(SUBHEAD)
MODUS OPERANDI: The modus operandi of this case is that fraudsters obtained data form various websitesi.e. naukri.com, linkedin jobs etc.which data uploaded by applicants/innocent peoples for Job placement. Fraudsters make calls/messages to peoplefor Job placement in which they shows that they are from HR department. They allure them and asked to deposit money in the name of various formalities i.e. registration fee, document verification charge, PMP, Course Charges, Appointing PRO(personal relationship officer) fees, charges of Employee agreement, IT Security, Training setting up.
During the investigation, it came to light that the fraudsters using hired bank account and mobile number to make fraud/cheat with innocent people.
