A nationwide campaign to raise awareness through outreach activities to achieve saturation of schemes named “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra”. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Sankalp Yatra on November 15 from Khunti,Jharkhand. It is launched on the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas ,by flagging off IEC(information,education,and communication)Vans which will be initially visiting the districts having significant scheduled tribe population and the remaining districts from third week of November 2023 onwards to 26 January,2024.
Its is designed to inform and empower citizens about government’s schemes,aims, to create awareness and deliver the benefits of welfare programs directly to people.
(SUBHEAD)The Yatra encompasses three tribal districts in Himachal Pradesh,namely Chamba,Spiti and Kinnaur. For Punjab and Haryana and Chandigarh,the Yatra is scheduled to commence on November 22.
The campaign seeks almost every gram panchayat in the country. In Punjab 13,646 locations will be covered , in Haryana 6,537 locations and in Himachal Pradesh 3,799 locations are targeted.
The Viksit Bharat Campaign, one of the largest outreach initiatives,aims to cover over 2.55 lakh Gram Panchayats and 3,600 urban local bodies by January 25,2024.
Government of India proposes to appoint Nodal officers at States\Districts for effective coordination of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra with State and District administrations.
