Shiromani Akali Dal chief and Firozpur Lok Sabha constituency MP Sukhbir Singh Badal was warmly welcomed by hundreds of people as he reached the residence of urban circle president Suresh Satija’s house near DAV College. Badal interacted with party officials on various issues and gathered information about the party work here.

Badal said that the law-and-order situation in Punjab is worsening day by day for which the AAP-led govt. was directly responsible. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party, which came to power by making false promises, has now become a party not of the common man but of vested interests. That is why the people of Punjab are remembering the tenure of the Akali government. He called upon all the workers to start preparations for the Lok Sabha elections from now on so that the issues of Punjab can be raised prominently in the Lok Sabha. He slammed the state govt for not resolving issues that led to the strike by cotton factory owners.

Local party leaders assured him that they were fully prepared for the upcoming elections. Badal had a close-door 20-minute meeting with Suresh Satija. It is being speculated that he discussed the issues related to the strength of the organization and the problems of the people.
