Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal  accompanied by  Panchkula's Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Soni and other officials and take stock of the water level situation of the dam.

While talking to the media, Chief Minister Manohar Lal told that it has been raining heavily for the last two days. Due to this, the water level in Kaushalya Dam has increased a lot. To control the increased water level, the gates of the dam have been opened and 4000 cusecs of water is being released. However, with the rain stopping, the situation seems to be under control.

He further said that one lakh cusecs of water is being released at Hathini Kund barrage. For example, there is an alert on 300,000 cusecs of water.

(SUBHEAD)The Chief Minister assured that our preparedness is intact to deal with any situation, be it due to rain or water coming from the mountains. He said that there was water-logging in some areas for a short period of one or two hours, but the situation is currently under control.

In response to a question regarding the statement of the Chief Minister of Punjab, Mr. Manohar Lal termed it as baseless and said that today he has a program in Panchkula and the water he is referring to is the waterlogged area of Derabassi. Seeing any area, they say that Haryana is waterlogged, I think they have made up their mind, Derabasi area is not under their control, they must be going to hand it over to Haryana. It is a joke to talk about Haryana by looking at the water in Derabassi.

In response to another question, Chief Manohar Lal clarified that there is no problem of electricity in Haryana. He criticized the unnecessary attempts to create an issue which does not exist at present and also reiterated his commitment to bring progress in the state.
