Police reportedly nabs two snatchers, who hide themselves in Jungle to consumes drugs in isolated placec. The case was registered on the complainant Prem Pandey S/o Lakhan Pandey, R/O H.No 99 Shastri Nagar, Manimajra, Chandigarh, aged 21 years,regarding a snatching incident.
In his complaint he stated that on 16 .12.2025 at about 4:00 pm he was traveling Shastri Nagar, Manimajra, via Housing Board Chowk in his auto‑rickshaw (PB‑65-AB-6360). When he reached near the railway pull on the jungle side, he stopped the auto to urinate. Meanwhile, two boys came from the railway light point, snatched Rs 14,000 from his pocket along with his documents, and run away from spot towards jungle.
Upon receiving the information, immediate action was taken andpolice teams swung into action and started investigation, during the investigation, a search has been made out in whole jungle area by police station officials and during search a hut was found in the jungle, which was being used by drug addicts,however, the suspects had already escaped. The hut was also equipped with dogs for security purposes and was being occupied by the person who attire looks like a beggar. The interrogation made out from beggar and some clue and appearance about the suspects found.
The dog squad called at the spot, the beggar and dogs were removed from the hut and the hut has been demolished.The CCTV footage from the area is being collected and analyzed, and raids were conducted at possible hideouts of the suspects. During the course of investigation, two accused, namely Afjal @ Salu S/o Aslam R/o #1213, Morigate, Manimajra, Chandigarh, aged 30 years, and Mohd. Sahdman @ Sadhu S/o Mohd. Ishad R/o #1119/2, Gobindpura, Morigate, Manimajra, Chandigarh, aged 25 years, have been arrested in connection with the case.
During interrogation both accused has confessed that after snatching they hide in the hut in jungle for consume drugs. The snatched documents/articles have been recovered.The accusedAfjal @ Saluand MohdSahdmanhas been sent to Judicial custody for 14 days.
