CANCER AWARENESS RALLY ORGANISED

Under the leadership of Nodal Officer Dr. Naveen Mittal, a cycle rally with the help of villagers and schools in various villages was today taken out. The objective was to make people aware of cancer prevention, treatment and ways to lead a healthy life.

The rally was organized by the staff of Health Wellness Center Amarpura. ANM Balwinder Kaur, CHO Priya and health worker Raman Kumar said that the purpose of the special campaign is to spread awareness about physical and mental health. To live a healthy life, one should eat nutritious food, fruits and vegetables, cereals and abandon junk food.

The health department was providing treatment facilities to the patients of cancer and other diseases through various health schemes like Chief Minister Punjab Cancer Relief Fund Scheme and Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme. As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the rally was taken out under the theme 'Healthy Mind, Healthy Home' so that physical and mental health and eco-friendly means of transport can be promoted. Principal of Bhati School Subhash Bhati and other staff, Asha workers Suman, Lajwanti, Maya, Laxmi cooperated.
