THE FIRST NATIONAL TALENT SEARCH SPORTS FESTIVAL WILL BE HELD IN CHANDIGARH NEXT YEAR REGISTRATION WILL START FROM DECEMBER 10

The first National Talent Search Sports Festival is being organized by the NGO Youth Overall Games Association (Yoga) in Chandigarh next year, for which the registration process will start from December 10, which will continue till January 26, 2023. Registration will be online for which the link is available on the website www.youthoverallgames.com.

Yoga General Secretary Surender Mohan, while addressing the journalists at a press conference held at Chandigarh Press Club here today, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is engaged in making India a sports power. Impressed by this, he has taken up this huge task. He told that the whole process will be in two phases, under which after registration, the Qualification Phase will be held in different states for which five age groups (under 12, 14, 17, 19 and open) have been decided.

After this there will be a National Phase. Thereafter, a sports festival will be organized in Chandigarh for the selected players, in which each winner will be given Rs 1 lakh and the runner-up will be given Rs 50,000 in cash.

Surender Mohan told that group insurance will also be done by the organization for all the players and they will also be provided with dresses and kits. He told that team games as well as individual games will be held in this sports fair. The logo of this first National Talent Search Sports Festival will also be launched in Chandigarh next month.(SUBHEAD)

According to Surender Mohan, The organisation has earlier conducted National Open Games in Jaipur, Kurukshetra and Goa for three consecutive years from 2017 to 2019 respectively. After that all the activities had to be stopped due to Corona Pendemic. 

Surender Mohan told that neither there will be any gender discrimination in registration fee nor prize money. The registration fee has been kept at Rs 150 per player.

In the press conference, Yoga Vice President Pt. Varinder Bhatara, Joint Secretary Mr. Bhagat Singh, Treasurer Mr. Sumit Swami, Executive Members Mr. Om Prakash Saini and Rakesh Sharma as well as Convenor Mr. Krishan Lal, who has been District Sports Officer in Chandigarh, were also involved.
