UP Yoddhas – the GMR owned franchisee of the Pro kabaddi League today stood true to their reputation decimating Telugu Titans 43-24. A fantastic defensive display with an authoritative attacking play saw UP Yoddhas showcase a complete performance as they are now placed 7th in the 9th Pro Kabaddi League standings with 24 points to their kitty.
Surender Gill and Pardeep Narwal attacked in pairs while Gurdeep and Ashu Singh shined with their rock solid defense.Surender Gill not only earned another Super10 earning 13 points but was awarded the Perfect Player of the Match. Pardeep Narwal with 9 raid points fell short by a single point for his Super10. Gurdeep (6 points) and Ashu Singh (5 points) covering left and right corners respectively had their Super 5’s from the game.
UP Yoddhas will next face Puneri Paltans on November 04 and the match will be broadcast LIVE on Star Sports Network and can be streamed LIVE on Disney Hotstar.
UP Yoddhas decided to defend after winning the toss and the early minutes of the first half saw neck-to-neck competition as both the teams played in tandem. With 8 minutes to go in the first half UP Yoddhas picked up the pace at both the offensive and defensive ends to race ahead that also included them the first All-Out on Telugu Titans, as the scoreboard read 16-8 to their favour. There after Dubki KingPardeep Narwal, in final minutes of the first half with the help of his picture perfect Dubki stretched the lead to 11 points and UP Yoddhas ended the first half in their favor with the scoreboard reading 20-9.
The second half saw an early Super Tackle by Telugu Titans defenders but that wasn’t enough for them to cut down that gigantic lead which was created by UP Yoddhas on them. UP Yoddhas soon inflicted a second All Out on Telugu Titans in the 24th minute of the game, taking their lead to 26-12.The defensive duo of Ashu and Gurdeep played in their traditional way today as the raiders of Telugu Titans failed to penetrate UP Yoddhas defensive wall, who inflicted a third All-Out on them taking their lead to 36-12 with 8 minutes left in the final half. However Telugu Titans showed some intent in final minutes of the game through some quick super tackles and raid points, but were unable to get close to UP Yoddhas. The game came to an end with UP Yoddhas decimating Telugu Titans 43-24.
