GGD SD College, Sector 32, Chandigarh and GGSW Jar Sahib emerged winners in the men's and women's sections, respectively, in the Panjab University Pancak Silat (Men) Championship at the PU Gymnasium here today.
While SGGS Kh. College 26, Chandigarh finished second in the men's section, the runners-up position in the women's category was claimed by MCM DAV-36. DAV College, Sector 10 men were third, Dev Samaj -45, Chandigarh earned third spot in the women's category.
More than 25 affiliated colleges of Panjab University located in Chandigarh and Punjab participated in this tournament.
Men: 50 kg to 55 kg: 1 Ashish (SGGS Kh. Coll, 26, Chd), 2 Suraj Singh (DAV-10, Chd), 3 Manish Kumar (DAV Hsp) and Rimpu Chauhan (PU Campus).
55 kg to 60 kg: 1 Shubham (DS-32, Chd), 2 Karan Singh Jaira (DAV-10, Chd), 3 Mandeep Singh (GN Kh. Abohar) and Mohd. Hadi (PGGC-11, Chd).
60 kg to 65 kg: 1 Shivam Kumar (DAV Hsp), 2 Dawinder (SD-32, Chd), 3 Nitesh Kumar (DAV-10, Chd) and Arvind (PGGC-46, Chd).
65 kg to 70 kg: 1 Abhinav (SD-32, Chd), 2 Ratik Sharma (PU Campus), 3 Kshitij Bhanbra (DAV Hsp) and Mohit Kumar (DAV -10, Chd).
70 kg to 75 kg: 1 Gurekan Singh (Waheguru College, Abohar), 2 Satish (PGGC-46, Chd), 3 Mandeep Singh Rathi (PU Campus) and Anshul Jatain (SGGS Kh. 26, Chd)
85 kg to 90 kg: 1 Sahil (SD-32, Chd), 2 Mandeep (SGGS Kh. 26, Chd), 2 Karan Kumar (DAV Hsp) and Manish Boora (PU Campus).
90 kg to 95 kg: 1 Navdeep (PU Campus), 2 Rise (SGGS Kh 26, Chd), 3 Hitesh Chhikara (DAV 10, Chd).
