2.Our Armed Forces are in the service of Nation, guarding our frontier on land, air and water throughout the year, under most inhospitable conditions. Even in the peace time, so many of our valiant soldiers loose their lives or limbs fighting against terrorist or other unscrupulous anti-social elements. To recognize the invaluable services rendered by them in Jul 1948 it was decided by the Govt of India to commemorate 7th December as Armed Forces Flag Day. The day has now become an old and honoured annual feature of our national life.
