PWD SDE AND JE SUSPENDED FOR NEGLIGENCE OF DUTY

Following the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann regarding provide clean and transparent governance to the people, a Sub Divisional Engineer Sukhpreet Singh and a Junior Engineer Naveen Kumar of Construction Division 3 Bathinda of PWD Department have been suspended from the duty with immediate effect under Rule 4 of the Punjab Civil Services (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 1970. 

Notably, a video of the construction work being carried out under the supervision of the concerned officer and employee went viral, which revealed negligence of the SDE and JE. After the investigation of the case, it has been decided to suspend the concerned officer and employee. 

Public Works Minister S. Harbhajan Singh ETO said that Punjab Government would not tolerate any negligence in duty on the part of any government employee or official in the state. He said that the headquarter of the officer and the employee would be the office of the Chief Engineer (Headquarters) Patiala during the suspension and they will not leave the headquarter without the permission of Chief Engineer (Headquarters).
