Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, today at Punjab Raj Bhavan, unveiled the book “Prernadayak Sakshatkar – Ek Safar” (Inspirational Interviews – A Journey), based on the life and thoughts of social worker and senior BJP leader Dr. Avinash Rai Khanna. The book has been authored by Dr. Jyoti.
Among the distinguished guests present were Justice Hari Pal Verma, Lokayukta, Haryana; Justice (Retd.) S.N.Aggarwal; Prof. Kuldeep Agnihotri, former Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Himachal Pradesh; and Shri Vineet Joshi, State Media Head, BJP Punjab.
On this occasion, Governor Shri Kataria said that it was a matter of pride and happiness for him to unveil a book written on such an inspiring personality whose life symbolizes public service, integrity, and dedication. He added that the life of Dr. Avinash Rai Khanna is a source of inspiration for every section of society — be it politics, education, or humanitarian service.
In his address, the Governor mentioned that born in Hoshiarpur, Dr. Khanna imbibed the values of service, hard work, and humility since childhood. He dedicated his life to public service and made politics a medium for social transformation. As MLA from Garhshankar, MP from Hoshiarpur, Member of Rajya Sabha, and National Vice President of the BJP, he always prioritized social welfare and the upliftment of humanity.
Governor Kataria further said that Dr. Khanna’s life is like an “ocean in a pitcher” — reflecting values of simplicity, truth, self-reliance, and compassion. He is not just a politician but also a sensitive social worker and a true devotee of humanity.

He expressed confidence that the book would serve as a guide and source of inspiration for youth, students, and social workers alike.
Expressing his thoughts on the occasion, Dr. Avinash Rai Khanna said, “Public service has always been the core purpose of my life. I have always believed that every person in society possesses some goodness — what is needed is to recognize it and give it direction. This book is a reflection of my life’s experiences, which I wish to share with society and the youth.” He expressed gratitude to Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria and author Dr. Jyoti, stating that this book is both an opportunity for introspection and a source of inspiration for him.
Author Dr. Jyoti remarked, “This book is not merely a biography of Dr. Khanna’s life but an exposition of the values that make him a true social servant and exemplary personality. The many episodes of his life teach readers that with determination, honesty, and compassion, one can bring about positive change in society.”
