Haryana ADGP rank senior IPS officer Y Puran Kumar reported to have committed suicide by shooting himself with service revolver at his residence at sector 11 here on Tuesday. He died on the spot.
Chandigarh police officials have reached the spot and Kumar's body has been taken into custody after investigation. Police are questioning people at the residence.
Why did they take this creepy step? What was the reason behind it. These are not yet clear, but there is believed to be some huge reason behind this decision of Y Puran Kumar to resort to suicide. However, no suicide note has been found from Y Puran Kumar yet. Chandigarh police are investigating the incident. Haryana police officials have also been informed of the incident.

Y. Puran Kumar was a senior IPS officer of Haryana cadre 2001 batch. He was transferred from ADGP Rohtak Range to IG PTC Sunaria (Rohtak) last month. Y Puran Kumar has also been IG of Rohtak Range earlier. He was also IG HAP Madhuban and IG Home Guards. Y. Puran Kumar held several important and big posts in Haryana Police in his IPS career. However, during this time he (IPS Y Puran Kumar) remained quite in the spotlight in the bureaucracy of Haryana over some controversies.
