Police achieved a major success under the supervision of Smt. Kanwardeep Kaur (IPS) W/SSP, UT, Chandigarh, Sh Dhiraj Kumar, SDPO South West and Inspector Jai Parkash Singh SHO/PS 36 by arresting an accused with commercial quantity of Narcotics Drug i.e. Heroine in case FIR No. 36 Dated 07.03.2026 U/S 21 NDPS Act PS-36 CHANDIGARH.
In compliance of directions of senior officers, Sh Dhiraj Kumar, SDPO/South West has constituted a team under the supervision of Inspector Jai Parkash Singh SHO/PS 36, in order to curve the menace of drugs. Thereafter, the team has geared up source of information and on 06.03.2025, at 8.00 pm, at about SI Narvir Singh, HC Satpal Singh, HC Surinder Kumar, Const. Mandeep and Const. Ashok Kumar were on patrolling duty near Flower Market, Sector 35 A, Chd, in the meantime, the secret information received that one person namely Arshdeep Singh S/o Hardayal Singh Village Chabal Jhabal Taran Taran, Punjab would come from Taran Taran with Heroine at back side ISBT Sector 43, Chd for further supply the heroine in Chandigarh.
In this regard, SDPO/SW and SHO/PS 36 also informed who instructed for further course of action and police team reached at the spot, where one person seen standing on road side and after seeing police party, the said person tried to went away, but he was nabbed by the police party on the suspicion and the said person disclosed his name as Arshdeep Singh. During his personal search, a narcotic substance i.e. Heroin weighing 258.92 grams (net weight) was recovered from his possession, which falls under commercial quantity. The recovered substance was sealed accordingly.
During the course of investigation, the accused Arshdeep Singh S/o Hardayal Singh R/o Village Chabal Jhabal Tarantaran Punjab has been arrested and during course of investigation, the accused disclosed in his disclosure statement that he used to procure the Heroine from his friend who resides in Patti Tarantaran, Punjab and he used to supply the said heroine for supply in Chandigarh area especially backside Workshop ISBT Sector 43, Chandigarh area.
He disclosed that he used to sell the said heroine in Rs. 2300 per/grm and after selling out the substance the collected money was given to his friend and he received his commission accordingly. The accused has been produced in the Hon’ble Court and three days of Police remand obtained and raids are being conducted in Tarantarn, Amrtisar punjab area from where accused procured the Heroine/Narcotics Substance. During the further course investigation, the source of procurement of Heroine will be ascertained and his co-accused and other person if any involved will be nabbed accordingly. More recovery and other persons are expected to be made in the present case in further course of investigation as the case is on initial stage.
KNOW THE ACCUSED: Arshdeep Singh S/o Hardayal Singh R/o Village- Chabal, Jhabal Distt- Taran Tarn Pb, Age 25 yrs, Un-married Residing with his family, working as daily wages.
