Delhi Police busted two major gambling racket at different places and arrested 20 gambles and recovered more than 15The joint team of Special Staff & PS Vasant Vihar, South West District has busted a large-scale illegal gambling racket running under the jurisdiction of PS Vasant Vihar, arresting 12 gamblers including the mastermind Harish @ Kranti. With their arrest, a total stake money of Rs. 15,32,500/- along with 13 packets of premium playing cards, 10 dice & one leather box were recovered.
(MOREPIC1) To combat the growing menace of organized crime, especially high-stake illegal gambling, teams of South-West District were directed to intensify efforts to identify and neutralize gambling dens. The team of Special Staff was tasked to gather precise intelligence and act decisive against key players in such illicit activities.
On 20.08.2025, a secret information was received about a sophisticated gambling racket operating at H.No. X-**, Kusumpur Pahadi, Vasant Vihar, Delhi. Immediately the team developed the information and a raid was conducted at Kusumpur Pahari, Vasant Vihar, Delhi. On reaching the spot, 11 individuals were caught red-handed engaging in high-stakes gambling.
Mr. Amit Goel, IPS, DCP, South West, said, the total stake amount of Rs. 15,32,500/- was recovered from the spot along with 13 packets of premium playing cards, 10 dice and a leather box. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 213/25, u/s 3/4/5 Delhi Public Gambling Act was registered at PS Vasant Vihar. During sustained interrogation, it was revealed that the racket was being run by Harish @ Kranti, who was also apprehended. Further investigation is being carried out to identify other associates involved in the network.

Mukesh R/o Badarpur, Delhi, age 48 year.10. Ankit R/o Kalkaji, Delhi, age 37 years. 11. Yaad Mohan R/o Maidan Garhi, Delhi, age 44 years. 12. Harish @ Kranti R/o Vasant Vihar, Delhi, age 39 years.

8 GAMBLERS INCLUDING KINGPINS APPREHENDED WHILE PLAYING SATTA AT 2 DIFFERENT PLACES
In order to restore law & order and ensure a safer environment for citizens, the North District has launched a comprehensive crackdown on organized crime syndicates operating in the area. The drive, aimed at dismantling networks involved in illegal activities such as Satta (Illegal Gambling), Drug Peddling and Bootlegging, which is a significant step towards protecting the community from nefarious activities of the anti-social elements. The traps were mounted at the vulnerable areas of North District for the prevention of such crimes and the staff initiated sincere efforts by sensitizing local informers and collecting human intelligence.
On 20.08.2025 at about 06:45 PM, the team member ASI Satyavir Singh received secret information through his reliable sources that gambling activity is going on at two different places in Gautam Gali, Kabir Basti, Subzi Mandi, Delhi.
Accordingly, working on the secret information, two different teams of Anti-Narcotics Cell, North District rushed the place of the information. The team comprising HC Vijay, HC Lekhraj and HC Naresh conducted raid outside the H. No. ***, Gautam Gali and succeeded in apprehending a person identified as Sunil Dutt @ Pappu, r/o Nehru Kutiya, Gautam Gali Kabir Basti, Malka Ganj, Delhi, age 56 years. On his personal search, the stake money Rs. 7,140/-, a Calculator, 02 Dairies, 02 Ball Pens and Carbon-paper etc. for writing Satta Parchi were recovered. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 426/25 dated 20.08.2025 u/s 12/9/55 Delhi Gambling Act was registered at PS Subzi Mandi and the investigation was taken up.

No. 581, Gautam Gali and succeeded in apprehending seven persons identified as 1). Rajkumar @ Sanjay, age 43 years, 2). Arun, age 29 years, 3). Vishal, age 30 years, 4). Bunty, age 30 years, 5). Mahender, age 42 years, 6). Rohan, age 27 years and 7). Raju, age 50 years. On their personal search, the stake money Rs. 18,360/-, a Calculator, 03 Dairies, 04 Ball Pens and Carbon paper etc. for writing Satta Parchi were recovered. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 427/25 dated 20.08.2025 u/s 12/9/55 Delhi Gambling Act was registered at PS Subzi Mandi and the investigation was taken up.
INTERROGATION: Mr. Raja Banthia, IPS, DCP, North Distt, said, during sustained interrogation, it was revealed that accused persons Sunil Dutt @ Pappu and Rajkumar @ Sanjay are the kingpins of the betting racket. They work as labourers, but were unable to fulfil their daily needs due to their ill habits, so they got lured towards betting to make easy & quick money. They are well aware of the technicality of betting and used to allure other persons with the easy money, they minted through betting.
On further interrogation, it was revealed that all the accused persons used to work in shops or doing private jobs. They are addicted to alcohol and due to meagre income, they indulged in illegal gambling to make easy money.
KNOW THE ACCUSED: Sunil Dutt @ Pappu, r/o Nehru Kutiya, Gautam Gali Kabir Basti, Malka Ganj, Delhi, age 56 years. He is a school dropout, unemployed and also an alcoholic. To earn easy money, he was indulged in illegal gambling. Previously, he was found involved in a case of Gambling Act of PS Subzi Mandi, Delhi.
Rajkumar @ Sanjay, r/o Kabir Basti, Gautam Gali, Malka Ganj, Delhi, age 43 years. He is a school dropout and used to work in a shop of building material, but not satisfied with his earnings, so indulged in such illegal gambling to earn easy money.
Arun, r/o Ambedkar Park, Malka Ganj, Delhi, age 29 years. He is a school dropout and used to work in a private company, but due to his ill habit of alcohol, he was unable to fulfill his daily needs so he has been indulged in such crime.
Vishal, r/o Roshnara Road, Malka Ganj, Delhi, age 30 years. He has studied up to 10th standard and used to work in a shop, but to earn easy money, he was allured towards gambling.
Bunty, r/o Ambedkar Park, Malka Ganj, Delhi, age 30 years. He has studied up to 10th standard and used to work in a mobile repairing shop. To fulfill his daily needs for alcohol, he indulged in such illegal gambling.
Mahender, r/o Kabir Basti, Malka Ganj, Delhi, age 42 years. He is a school dropout and used to work in stationary shop, but due to his ill habits of alcohol, he was engaged in gambling.
Rohan, r/o Khade Wali Basti Malka Ganj, Delhi, age 27 years. He is a school dropout and used to work in a cosmetic shop, but he was not satisfied with his earnings so he was involved in such illegal gambling to earn easy money.
Raju, r/o Akhade Wali Gali, Kabir Basti, Malka Ganj, Delhi, age 50 years. He is a school dropout and used to work in a factory, but due to ill habits of alcohol, he was lured towards gambling.
