The Railway Department has initiated a survey for the construction of two new railway bridges—one on the Sitto Gunno Road and the other on the Abohar-Sri Ganganagar Road. Prior to this, financial approval amounting to Rs 70 crore was issued for the construction of the bridge on Sitto Gunno Road, and Rs 92 crore for the overbridge on the Abohar-Sri Ganganagar Road.

MLA Sandeep Jakhar held detailed discussions with the Union Minister of State for Railways, Ravneet Singh Bittu during his Abohar visits, regarding the long-pending demand for these railway bridges. State BJP President and former MP Sunil Jakhar also met with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and MoS Bittu on several occasions to address this issue.

The railway team that arrived in Abohar from Delhi included Deputy Chief Engineer Harvinder Singh Sidhu, along with Senior Superintending Engineers Ajay Bhardwaj and Ram Bharose. For the purpose of demarcation, Patwaris from the Revenue Department—Maninder Singh, Sukhbir Singh, and Rupinder Singh—assisted the team at the site. In addition to these officials, representatives from the Forest Department, the Punjab State Power Corporation, the Public Works Department, and the Municipal Corporation were present on the occasion. They measured the road alignment for the proposed bridges and conducted a survey of the surrounding area. This further kindle hopes for start of work at the earliest for the RoBs.
